The practice of law is a calling to serve clients, the community, and the profession.
In October of 2012, a common entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to take the practice of law in a new direction led attorneys Michael Witt and Courtney Howard to form Witt & Howard, PLLC. Prior to working together, both Michael and Courtney worked in many different types of legal environments, ranging from large insurance defense firms to small business law firms. Their experience has taught them not only about the law, but about the dynamics of running a law practice in a manner that best serves the most important person: the client.
We believe that client comfort leads to the most important part of the attorney-client relationship: trust. Many of our clients are dealing with a legal problem for the first time in their life. Law offices can be intimidating; to this end, we are happy to meet new clients for coffee and, under certain circumstances, at their home. We also understand that legal fees are a concern to all of us as consumers, irrespective of whether we are purchasing legal services or groceries.

Areas of Practice
We have prosecuted and defended a wide variety of personal injury claims, including those involving car accidents, wrongful death, negligence and products liability. We strive to develop strong lines of communication with our clients and dedicate our efforts to obtaining the full financial settlement they deserve to move forward with their lives.
Estate planning is not always the most comfortable subject to discuss due to the fact that it forces a person to review their assets and essentially plan how they might distribute those assets upon their death. Our firm is sensitive to this and as such we take the time to get to know our clients and help them focus on how to distribute their property in a manner that appropriately reflects their wishes.
Litigation is a long process which is often expensive and almost always stressful. When contemplating whether or not to file a lawsuit, a person must always weigh the costs against the benefits. Our attorneys are extremely upfront with clients and engage in this process right away to help the client make the best decision regarding whether or not to move forward.
We are equipped to handle commercial litigation, draft and review contracts and litigate contract disputes, and defend employers. We also provide business entity formation services and general counseling services with regard to legal matters such as reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts; business sales; setting up corporations, partnerships and LLCs;real estate purchases; sales or lease negotiations; litigation services (prosecution and defense); employee and personnel issues; and insurance matters.
We provide a range of business services to help clients achieve their objectives, defend their rights and establish their options. We represent a wide variety of businesses, in both size and kind. Our clients range in size from large insurance companies to sole proprietors. Each business client is unique in its own way, bringing a diverse set of circumstances and issue to the table.
Our attorneys represent owners, sellers, buyers, landlords, property managers and developers of commercial and residential real estate with an eye for efficiency and practicality. During the initial evaluation of your case, our attorneys focus in on the issues at hand and guide our clients through the process and inform them of every practical option available to them. We have assisted clients in negotiations, alternative dispute resolution and in litigation. Legal matters we have worked on include litigation; commercial leasing and sales; residential leasing and sales; property management disputes; dispositions; and acquisitions.
